The New Mexico Attorney General's Office – Davis Innovations' staff facilitated the Human Trafficking Planning Conference that was funded by the S.T.O.P. Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) Formula Grant. DI planned and designed the training curriculum and agenda for the two-day human trafficking training program. This training program engaged national and local speakers to address the issue of human trafficking and its relationship to violence against women in New Mexico. Legislators, decision-makers, policy advisors, law enforcement, faith-based organizations, and victim service providers participated in the training conference. This event was designed to serve as the catalyst in the formation of the New Mexico Task Force on Human Trafficking, in the initiation of required actions necessary to develop legislation, in the collection of accurate data and statistics, and in the identification of current victim services offered and victim service needs to effectively identify and serve victims of human trafficking.
